Mr & Mrs Ninja Duck were eating out this week and kindly provided us with this review of Coco's Italian Restaurant on Regent Road, Altrincham.
Coco's is a firm Altrincham favourite when it comes to authentic Italian cuisine. Mr and Mrs Ninja Duck arrived last Thursday evening without a reservation and were greeted by the friendly staff. We half expected to be turned away as this place is always busy and it's advisable to book ahead, but the Ninja Duck flies in the face of danger and used his duck charm to get a quiet table in the corner so he could romance Mrs Ninja. Drinks were ordered (water) as it was a school night and Mr Ninja Duck was up at the crack of sparrows. Starters were ordered which consisted of Pizza Formaggiore (garlic bread with Mozzarella), Calamari and Insalata tre Colore (mozzarella, vine tomatoes, olive oil with fresh basil and asparagus).
The starters arrived within 10 minutes and it's obvious everything is fresh or hand made.
Main course consisted of a Ribeye steak which was marinated in Dijon mustard served with red wine onions, mushrooms and a touch of cream . A side of fries was ordered also.
Mrs Ninja Duck ordered the Pizza Salsiccia (spicy salami, onion and peppers)
The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice and rich with plenty of fresh flavours. The pizza was cooked on a traditional thin and crispy base and was a very generous size. The Ninja duck loves his large portion sizes. After the meal we were stuffed but the dessert fridge was right behind us and it would have been rude not to order one. We decided to share the chocolate orange gateau with ice cream.
The bill was ordered and the ducks waddled home. The duck highly recommends you try Coco's next time you're in the mood for proper authentic Italian food.
