Altrincham Duck

After hearing raving reviews on Facebook and Twitter the Ninja Duck thought it would only be good manners to try out Urban Burger Bar. As you all know, the Market quarter of Altrincham has come on in leaps and bounds recently with the newly revamped  market along with all the great bars nearby - it really has become the jewel in Altrincham's crown!

 

Talking about bars, the Ninja Duck was nursing a slight hangover last Saturday and decided that a decent burger and chips was in order. Urban Burger bar is located next door to Riddles on Greenwood Street, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating considering how busy it was and we were seated at the rear near the kitchen. Our drinks orders were promptly and professionally taken while we looked over the menu. What suprised me was the price.. it wasn't like your typical burger joint you find in Manchester or other well known chains were they charge you £15 a burger! The food here is priced just right and the burgers range from just over £5 to a £9.95. In other words it's a bargain, especially if you are visiting as a family and the extensive menu also includes hot dogs, pizza's, ice creams, in fact - the whole works!

 

I decided to order the Cheese and Mac burger and Mrs Duck had the Urban Stack burger both with truffle fries. The food orders were flying out of the kitchen but the staff didn't even break a sweat which pays tribute to this very well run establishment. The food arrived about 10 minutes later and was cooked exactly to my liking. I was so hungry by this point I just got stuck in and demolished the entire plate to the disgust of Mrs Ninja!. I really don't understand people who use a knife and fork to eat a burger!

 

The relishes and salad on the Burger were delicious and there is plenty to cater for all tastes including vegetarians. The truffle fries are the nicest I have ever tasted, they're addictive! I don't need to preach to you people about what a good burger tastes like? On requesting the bill the food and drinks came to just shy of £20 - I've spent more ordering takeaways.

 

This place is a must to visit. The duck will be back. Well done and keep up the good work - overall the service and hygine at this establishment if far beyond what you would expect from a 'run of the mill' burger bar. The ducks highly reccomend you pay a visit. 10/10
